Reason of rise and fall of BSP

Reason of rise and fall of BSP
Since the establishment of BSP in 1984 under the leadership of Kanshiram, BSP seen many ups and down in politics. The steep fall of 2014 Loksabha election despite the considerable vote share really surprise most of political analyst in terms of the strategies of its leader Mayawati. The following reason in first instance appears to be major points of poll debacle of assembly and Loksabha election:
Role of media ignored by Mayawati: Mayawati never allowed any of its party leaders to interact with media or any social platform. By doing this she prevented the policies and good work of BSP to reaches among the masses. BSP was never the natural choice of elite class. Its core voter is lower middle class to the lower class. These classes make up their mind based upon the policies he reads in Hindi Newspapers or Hindi news channels accessed through Cable TV. In such situation She made a blunder mistake not allowed their worker to spread good work of their party during her regime. She herself didn’t come in front of media persons frequently to answer the issues raised by media. Even if her assessment of negative publicity by media considered correct, she must aggressively encounter to deny the allegations made by various political parties.
No internal democracy in party: Mayawati is core decision maker in BSP and as per media reports she takes advice from Satish Mishra and Nasim Siddiqui. If a true assessment is made based on public perception both of her adviser was never a mass leader. In such situation these leaders has hijacked the mass movement of party which was core strategy during start up of party by Shri Kanshi Ram Ji.  No second generation leadership she had allowed to rise within the party. In such situation the future of BSP after Mayawati is uncertain. The core dalit voters have apprehension of it. She never made any spoke person of party, which could clarify the day to day rumors about the party. In this situation how much time the core voter will feel attachment to party is real litmus test for BSP. She has to immediately take care of these concerns if really want BSP to rise as main stream party.
Voter is not employer-employee relation: Mayawati   is treating core dalits as vote  bank. It is correct that the dalits gives votes to BSP in the name of party irrespective of party candidates. The grand success and clear majority in the assembly election in 2007, she had opportunity to take some reform in terms of Chakbandi, reshuffling in state machinery so that the core voter could feel that they are in power. Their grievances have been addressed on priority by state administration but she lost this golden opportunity. Instead she gives the impression of hijacking of central govt due to support of dalit voters. If she could had clarified her position considering her feet on ground this situation, this situation couldn’t had arrived. Dalit is feeling very disappointed  as after giving  votes to her last 30 years, she not even bothered to hire a professional agency to assess what are the core problem of them and what measures must be taken to empower them.

If mayawati really want to improve the tally of her party, she had to win trust of its core voters again and assess the ground situation by herself only. She had to mobilize the mass movement of party and prepare team of devoted workers.  Otherwise it is alarming bell to dalits to reach in the situation where Dr Ambedkar had left. There are lot of change is expected in next five years and once lagging it will be difficult to comeback in main stream for the dalits.
